A Day at the Beach

We woke up at Dustin's at went for a run along Rodeo Drive. We would have done some shopping, but we couldn't afford anything.

After running to the supermarket and picking up ingredients, I made omelettes for the house.

(Smoked Turkey, Mozzarella, Avocado, Tomato and Onion. Hearty.)

Post egg inhalation, I grabbed the big blanket from the trunk of my car and we headed to Venice Beach. Here is a video of the boardwalk, along with some pictures from the sand:

(While the Venice Beach Boardwalk is certainly a tourist trap, the weather could definitely be a lot worse...)

(Beautiful day at Venice Beach.)

(Not too crowded, not too empty.)

(One of the locals says hello.)

(Baby blue beach blanket. Say that 5 times fast.)

(Beach-going doofuses, take 1)

(Beach-going doofuses, take 2)

Upon our return from the beach, I packed up my stuff and headed over to my friend Sam Kolbert-Hyle's house, where I'll be spending the night. He lives in an airy two bedroom a couple of blocks away from Dustin.

(Sam, the tough guy face isn't as effective when you're holding a bouquet of flowers.)

(Fireplace, flatscreen TV, and fancy view. Good for you, Sammy boy.)

Tonight, we are headed to Baby Blue's, a BBQ spot in West Hollywood. We'll see how it stacks up with Texas and Nashville...

Word to all of your mothers. And mine. Hi Mom.
