Day 2 in LA + Malibu

Yo. We are going to dinner in a bit, so this post will be mostly pictures and captions.

Jeff and I woke up and went for a run down to The Grove, a beautiful outdoor mall in LA. On the way to The Grove was a great Farmer's Market, reminiscent of Redding Terminal Market in Philly (where I went to school), so we decided to head over for lunch. I had a great corned beef sandwich and bought some beef jerky and some hot sauce. It was a success.

(A delicious slab of jerky. I bought a pound. As of the time this post is being written, I think only 6 or 7 ounces remain.)

(Corned Beef on Rye with Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut, Horseradish and Spicy Brown Mustard, with a Pickle and some Roast Beef au jus on the side.)

(At Magee's, my new buddy Dwayne shows off some corned beef.)

(An institution, and for good reason.)

Once we had eaten our fill of lunch, we hopped in the car and drove to The Getty Center, a new museum/collection of buildings perched atop a cliff in a neighborhood called Brentwood. It was a clean, stylish structure complete with a garden, where we spent most of our time.

(Sculptures galore on the walk from the Tram to the Museum.)

Then we picked up Dustin and headed to his parents' house in Malibu, via Sunset Boulevard and the Pacific Coast Highway. It was a beautiful drive, despite a bit of traffic, but once we got there we relaxed, had some Coronas, Tostitos and Guacamole, and headed to the pool (sans camera).

(Malibu PCH views.)

(Ben shows us his "O" face on the way to Malibu - for no apparent reason, I might add.)

By the way, saw some nice cars on the roads over the course of the day.

(Green Aston Martin Convertible.)

(This is what a picture of a Ferrari F430 looks like when you don't properly factor in how quickly it accelerates.)

(As a general rule, I usually think that white cars tend to look like bathtubs. The rule does not hold for this Lotus Exige.)

(Completely unrelated to cars, but a good looking anonymous building nonetheless.)

As I mentioned earlier in the post, we are headed to dinner with Sam's friends at a place called Spanish Kitchen. It will be a big group, and Ben was just offered a permanent job at the law firm at which he interned this summer, so everyone is in a good mood.

Tomorrow, Jeff and I are hitting the road at 7:30am to head to Vegas.

Vegas, baby, Vegas.
